Romulo Kuranyi is an international artist whose work moves between energy, emotion, and frequency. Born in Petrópolis, Brazil, in 1989 and raised between continents – a German-Hungarian father, a Brazilian-Norwegian-Panamanian family of his own – his visual language carries the warmth of South America and the precision he absorbed during years in Paris and Berlin.
His signature is unmistakable. Bold, gestural marker lines. Faces nested within faces, patterns built from spontaneous strokes. What looks playful at first carries something deeper: each face stands for a perspective, an emotion, a frequency. Together they form a network of human encounters – of energies passing through us.
This philosophy lives in VIBRA, the series and artistic movement Romulo created to make the invisible visible. VIBRA has been exhibited internationally – from Stuttgart’s Staatsgalerie and Singen’s MAC Museum to Sylt, Rome, Paris, Dubai, Rio de Janeiro, and Art MIAMI – and has established him as one of the defining voices in contemporary pop and frequency-based art.
His path was anything but linear. For years Romulo was a well-known figure in Stuttgart’s gastronomy and event scene, painting in every spare moment. The decision to commit fully to art – sixteen years ago – changed everything.
Today, his work bridges fine art and the worlds of luxury, fashion and culture. Romulo has collaborated with Bentley, Bugatti, Smart, Nike, and Ronaldinho – transforming sneakers, cars, capsule collections and live experiences into shared artworks. In 2026 he became the first artist ever to paint live during the Carnival in Rio. In December 2025, he returns to Art MIAMI with new work.
